When a person hears the combination of the words “a house of cardboard boxes,” he can imagine anything. But it is unlikely that this young couple decided to build. This is not at all like ordinary self-indulgence.
Daniel Gray and Kathleen Starry decided to spend time together and to spend it with benefit. They conceived the implementation of a truly unique project for which they collected a huge number of cardboard milk bags. The girl’s parents also took part in the construction, and they took over part of the preparatory process.
For a start it was necessary to fill all the packages with water and freeze. This became the main building material. Then the couple carefully calculated the parameters of the future construction. The most important is the ice foundation. After all, he laid the foundation of the needle, which was built in accordance with ancient traditions!
After the required number of blocks was made, the assembly process began. The pair worked in the cold in -13 degrees, and it seemed that nothing could stop them!
Relatives of the girls supported the original initiative. But Kathleen and Daniel did most of the work.
Even the strongest wind and prickly frost is nothing compared to the incredible result this pair has achieved! The electric light, which was held from the house, made the construction play with all the colors of the rainbow.
After more than 150 hours of work, a real Needle appeared on the site. It consists of more than 500 ice blocks and looks amazing!
Thanks to the lighting, the design shines all night, serving as the best decoration of the courtyard.
Building the igloo in the harsh winter climate has become a real romantic adventure for the couple. They were able to experience their feelings during a difficult working process, and are now ready to build a more comfortable living together.
